The Philips VG-8230 is the first MSX2 from Philips. Although it does not carry NMS (New Media Systems) as a label, this is stated on the top. The storage is a single-sided floppy and via external port.

On the packaging and on the machine proudly featured 192KB of memory. However, 128KB of this is only for video and effectively only 64KB for use. For this reason, the machine was quickly succeeded by the NMS-8235 which contained 128KB of memory.

The adjustable keyboard is striking.
