A lot is happening at the museum!
We haven’t been updating this section much due so much things happening. Thankfully, only positive things!
From March 2022, we’re giving away free computers to Ukrainian refugees. We all see the news and all hope this is going to end soon. As the HomeComputerMuseum we are also trying to help in our way, which is making sure the computers are ready to be used, meaning English, Ukrainian and Russian are installed as a language, the computer is up-to-date and just a normal working computer. So far, we’ve given away around 50 computers and thankfully we have a lot of companies that give us their ‘old’ laptops so we can erase them and prepare for the refugees. Without them, we couldn’t do this. Still, if you have old computers (preferably laptops with at least a Core i3/i5/i7 CPU and a Windows license), contact us. We will give them away for free!
Of course we had some incredible computers added to the collection, including Atari STacy, a Tektronix 4051 and much more to tell here. We usually put these new findings on our Instagram and Facebook page.
Finally we are organizing a huge event in November called GeekCon. This will be in the Jaarbeurshallen in Utrecht and hopefully a yearly returning event. It takes place on November 12 and 13.
Upcoming Thursday (26 May) it’s Hemelvaart (Ascension Day), a national holiday. However, we are open as always from 11:00 to 18:00. A good excuse to visit us right?
We’re also open on both days Pinksteren (Pentecost), including Monday 6 June from 11:00 till 18:00.
On Saturday June 18th, we’ll be closed due Tweakers.net having a company day at the museum and hired the entire museum.
