The Apple Macintosh SE/30, launched in 1989, is known as one of the most powerful compact Macs ever made. With its Motorola 68030 processor at 16 MHz, it represented a significant leap forward in speed compared to earlier models.
By default, the computer came with the, at the time, enormous amount of 1 MB of memory, which could be expanded to 32 MB. With the help of specific expansions, it could even accommodate up to 128 MB of memory.
The SE/30 featured an internal 40 MB SCSI hard drive. Despite its small, all-in-one design, the SE/30 was surprisingly expandable and customizable, with a PDS slot (Processor Direct Slot) for expansions such as network cards or accelerators.
The combination of power, expandability, and the iconic compact form made it a beloved workhorse among professionals and hobbyists.
